Why Ridiculous Timing?
This project was inspired by those
in the Stepmania community who insist that Marvelous
Timing is a requirement to enjoy Stepmania and share
your scores with others. This community is so competitive that a AAA without Marvelouses is worthless to them. Now I fear that some in
the community are getting so good that those who can AAAA songs will have no
way to distinguish amongst each others' skills. A new benchmark must be set to
separate the best of the best of the best from the mere best of the best.
How
does this affect scoring and grades?
For now, Ridiculous and
Marvelous carry the same point value in both regular score and dance
points. A Quad A is still
achievable with all Ridiculouses and Marvelouses, and a Quint A is now
possible with all Ridiculouses. There is a Quint A graphic, but anybody
who knows how hard a Quad A is to achieve will appreciate the rarity and
difficulty of attaining the Quint A.
Is this a joke?

Who are you people?
Elipsis and Halcyon are both Stepmania
and DDR players, as well as computer programmers, who enjoy working on independent
programming projects and stepping on arrows.
What do I do if I’m having an issue
with the software?
Right now Stepmania
Ridiculous is STILL
IN BETA. Everyone is welcome to share their questions,
comments and concerns with us in our forum.
